A post to get friends and family on board with the adventure.
Hopefully you’ll have a root around and feel free to share any tips on the countries we’re heading too. Our e-mail address is here.
Trusty Steeds: We’d like to introduce our trusty steeds that’ll be taking us safely around the world. Brian has found a name for his black beauty, Willie-Mae after ‘Big Mama’ Thornton, but I’m still to stumble on the right one for mine, watch this space.
Home sweet Home: This badger will be our home, at least for our trip across Europe until accommodation becomes less dear. Lightweight, lovely and I’m sure she’s going to keep us warm and dry over the coming months. Why not pop the bikes in for another go, yummy!
Love is: the mutual appreciation and wonder of a leather hiking sandal. I didn’t think I’d see the day but Dad was right, it’s a deep carnal urge in all us Thompsons and Phelans for that matter too, big up!
Sparkly Spring: Epping Forest this weekend was an awesome chance for us to try out all our kit. Hammocks are the ‘new black’ and the forest was stunning, only enhanced by a strategically draped Brian. A few bits to buy and change but the kit list is thankfully now looking very small, phew!
Home Comforts: As is always the way pre leaving home, one starts to consider the things you might miss. No mater were we travel in the world you just can’t beat a good British pub. For the Londoners reading this, this beauty was in Buckhurst Hill, spectacular views of London, just on the edge of Epping Forest, definitely worth a visit 🙂
Hopefully this will keep you all up to date on where we are, what’s been going on and the reassurance to our mothers that we are indeed still alive! Can’t quite believe it’s only eight weeks to go!
